Lohri Celebration at GAURS International School, Yamuna City
The festival of Lohri was celebrated with great enthusiasm and cultural fervor at GAURS International School, Yamuna City, on 13th January 2025. The event showcased the vibrant tradition and joyous spirit associated with this harvest festival.
The program began with the chanting of the Mool Mantra, invoking blessings and creating a serene atmosphere. All attendees participated with reverence, marking a spiritual and respectful start to the celebration.
The energy of the event soared as the students of Class 9 presented an electrifying Bhangra Dance. Their synchronized moves and vibrant costumes captured the essence of Punjabi culture and left the audience cheering with excitement.
Following this was an engaging quiz on the historical and cultural significance of Lohri, which saw enthusiastic participation from the students.
The highlight of the event was a skit on the legendary Dulla Bhatti, beautifully enacted by the students. Through their performance, they brought to life the story of this brave and generous historical figure, leaving the audience inspired.
A thoughtful speech on Lohri, delivered by Navni of Grade IX, further enriched the celebration. Her words shed light on the values of gratitude, unity, and togetherness that the festival symbolizes.
Adding an artistic touch, a poetry recitation on Lohri captured the joy and warmth of the festival.
Principal, Mrs. Mala Pathak, addressed the gathering, sharing her insightful thoughts on the importance of preserving cultural heritage and celebrating festivals with enthusiasm.
The celebration concluded with the traditional bonfire ritual, symbolizing the victory of light over darkness and the arrival of longer days. Students and staff gathered around the bonfire, singing traditional songs and sharing sweets, creating a warm and joyous atmosphere.
