Inter-House Folk Dance Competition – Celebrating the Spirit of Dussehra
“When expressions replace lyrics, true beauty of dance is realised.”
An Inter-House Folk Dance Competition for students of Grades III to IX was organised on October 09, 2024 in the school auditorium on the occasion of Dussehra. Students dressed in bright folk costumes swayed to the beats of traditional music, showcasing their vibrant dancing abilities with vivacious performances that reflected India's diverse cultural heritage.
The event aimed at promoting and preserving traditional folk dances from different states and celebrating the rich art and cultural legacy of India. Ghoomar, Puppet Dance, Kalbelia, Haryanvi, Punjabi, and Bihu dance forms were beautifully presented by students of various houses.
The judges applauded the participants for their commendable performances and shared valuable insights and experiences with the students.
Results:
• Junior Category: Subhash House – 1st Position
• Senior Category: Azad House – 1st Position
• Gandhi House and Tilak House secured the 2nd Position
The program concluded with a valedictory speech by the Principal, Mrs. Mala Pathak, appreciating the efforts of the students and encouraging them to continue embracing cultural traditions.
